This set has the newest tie fighter design out there. Along with the ship being unique, you get a few new minifigures to go along with it. It took me about and hour to complete. I first began this set with the minifigures.
The first minifigure I built was the rebel fighter. He comes with two faces, a helmet, and a blaster with a connector piece on the end. The trooper's outfit is from Endor, but I don't think they will be fighting on Endor in the upcoming Rogue One movie. He looks great and is detailed head to toe. The next minifigure I worked on was the Shoretrooper. He has a single angry face, a blaster pistol and a shoretrooper helmet. This minifigure is well detailed and looks fantastic. After that I built the Imperial Ground Crew minifigure. He has a single face that has a headset on it, two landing batons, and a helmet. The figure looks very professional and serious which gives it an awesome but scary look. There hasn't really ever been an imperial ground crew, so this is a nice minifigure to have. Finally, I built the TIE Pilot. He comes with an angry face (same as the shoretrooper), and an imperial pilot helmet. His chest and back are detailed while his legs are just solid black. Overall, the minifigures all looked really cool and I feel like they were a perfect addition to my collection.
Then I moved onto the TIE Striker. This is one of the coolest TIE ships that I have. Its features are: adjustable wings, central cockpit with top/front access, rear storage and two spring-loaded shooters. By storage standards, it is a medium size, but it is very long. There are about 8 stickers, all of which go on th wings and the central structure of the ship. It is really fun to play with and there are two niches in the sides where you can hold the ship safely. The ship looks fantastic overall and the technic pieces used to create the angled wings are amazing.
As a whole, the set looks amazing. Its fun to play with and looks menacing when displayed. The price to piece ratio is horrible. I wish that they had thrown in more minifigures or a structure to make the price seem more reasonable. I really enjoy this set besides the price, so I think that if you want a set that will entertain you and add to your tie fighter collection, this is an okay buy. I would rate this set 4/5. I hope this review was helpful to all who read it and that you continue to love LEGOS!
