I really enjoyed the Jurassic World movie and had to grab all of the sets. This set was a nice little one to add to the collection. It took me about 25 minutes to complete. I began this build with the minifigures.
First, i started with the ACU Trooper. Unlike the troopers in the other Jurrassic world sets, this trooper comes without a ballistic vest and instead comes with a blue hat and an electric prod. He only has one face and it is a very serious face. His chest and legs are well detailed. The prod makes him seem like a guard, so I think it was a good fit. The next minifigure I worked on was Gray. He is one of the boys from the movie. Gray comes with two faces, happy and scared. His chest is well detailed, his hair is bushy, and his legs are just solid blue. The last figure I worked on was the dilophosaurus. It is a lot bigger than the minifigures and the patterns on its body look fantastic! Its legs, arms, head, and mouth can all be moved for different action shots. After the dilophosaurs, I worked on the gyrosphere and the truck.
The first vehicle I worked on was the gyrosphere. It has a chair inside it that stays upright when you roll the ball. This feature is very cool because no matter where/how fast you roll it, the minifigure inside will always be upright. The gyrosphere was an awesome addition, but the truck is pretty cool too. The truck features are: a driver's cockpit, front winch, storage area and an exploding feature in the back of the vehicle. The winch is the coolest part about this truck and in the picture on the box, the winch is used to try and capture the dilophosaurus. Where the back tire is supposed to be, you can rotate the tire and cause boxes to flip out of the care to reenact driving on a bumpy terrain. The top support can also be removed or lifted up. The vehicles look great together and are great to play with.
Overall, this is a fun set to own and reasonably priced. The dinosaur figures in each of the sets are custom, so the price of these sets are a little higher than their piece to price ratio should be. I think this set is worth buying because I have had a lot of fun messing around with the vehicles and playing with the minifigures. Also, this is a cool set to put on display as if the dilophosaurus was actually chasing the gyrosphere! I would rate this set 5/5. I hope this review was helpful to all who read it and that you continue to love LEGOS!
